Could the Anti Smoking Law in England Take Bingo Enthusiasts On to the Web?

[ English ]

An abundance has been talked in the press recently about the bingo industry being hit because of the smoking ban in England. Things have become so poor that in Scotland the Bingo industry has demanded huge aid to help keep the businesses alive. However will the internet version of this traditional game provide a salvation, or might it in no way compare to its real life peer?

Bingo is an enduring game generally played by the "blue haired" generation. In any case the game recently had experienced a recent return in appeal with younger members of society deciding to hit the bingo parlours instead of the discos on a weekend. All this is about to be reversed with the enforcement of the anti smoking law all over United Kingdom.

No more will enthusiasts be allowed to smoke at the same time marking numbers. Beginning in the summer of 2007 every public location will no longer be allowed to permit smoking in their locations and this includes Bingo parlors, one of the most common locations where folks enjoy smoking.

The outcome of the cigarette ban can already be observed in Scotland where cigarettes are already illegal in the bingo parlors. Players have plunged and the industry is beyond a doubt struggling for to stay alive. But where did the players go? Obviously they have not forgotten this age old game?

The answer is on the internet. People are now realizing that they can play bingo using their computer whilst enjoying a drink and smoke and in the end, enjoy massive cash rewards. This is a recent development and has timed itself bordering on perfect with the ban on cigarettes.

Of course playing on the net can never replace the collective aspect of heading over to the bingo parlour, but for a group of men and women the governing edicts have left a number of bingo enthusiasts with little alternative.
