Bingo and Oklahoma: Two birds of a feather

Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That is due to the fact that the Native tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for many years. Clients from all of the neighboring states get in automobiles and visit Oklahoma to enjoy Bingo on the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) followed a landmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. Since that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Native bands of Oklahoma have introduced gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Indian tribes to take advantage of the betting restrictions, and today operate 10 gambling dens of their own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned gambling dens were built on. automated games such as one armed bandits weren’t allowed, since they’re thought to contribute to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma law has changed to allow for enormous Indian gaming casinos. You’ll now find American Indian gambling dens with slot machines, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are not approved in the Native gambling dens yet, but that is only a waiting game. Nobody can authority whether having other gambling den games in the bingo parlours will do for the draw of bingo.
